Direct sow zucchini seeds 1/2 - 1" (1.3-2.5cm) in fertile soil that has been amended with compost and aged manure. Zucchini enjoys full sunlight and germinates when the soil has reached a temperature of around of 65-75°F (18-24°C) . Space plant around 24-30" (61-76cm) apart. They require heavy and consistent water. They do like some elbow room, so give them some space.
